My love for animals made it easy for me to want to draw & paint them.  As  a  child I would visit my Grandma's dairy ranch with my Dad.  As he milked the cows I would visit all the animals I was allowed to get near.  How I loved being there! My dad would put me on the old buckshin mare in the small corral and I never wanted to get off!!  My love for the "horse" began there.  I was 13 when my parents bought  my first horse, a mustang I named "Blaze".

Other the years, I have had many different horses.  My daughter grew up with "Pony Club" and learned more than I ever did as a kid. She enjoyed the competion of the Morgan Shows and we met many fine horse people along the way.  Our Morgan "Nike" won us many ribbons & trophies until my daughter discovered "boys"!  Later when she married, Nike became my trail horse until he left for the "greener pastures" at the age of 24.

I have hopes of one of my Grandchildren taking up with the horses.  I have many Breyer horses to pass on!!  Now in my later years, I enjoy trail riding with my friends and picking up the art brush and starting a new painting and having family around.  I live in Granite Bay, Calif. near my two grown children & five grandkids, with my two dogs & two horses.

I often donate pet portraits for animal rescues every year.  I have several organizations that I like to help out with my art.  It's a good feeling to know I am giving back in a small way.

Pictured here is my Morgan, "Nike" & "Raydar", my shepherd.  Both are gone now & missed dearly.
